Terms of use
In short: Lampverse is a daily Bible verse and reading-plan app for iPhone. The core is free. Lampverse Plus is an optional purchase: $19.99 a year, or $39.99 once. The Scripture texts are public domain and used unchanged. The app is provided as is.
The app and Apple's license
Lampverse shows a Bible verse a day in widgets and in the app, lets you read the Bible in the included translations, and keeps your progress in reading plans. You use it under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA for App Store apps). These terms add to it and do not replace it. If the two conflict, Apple's EULA governs your relationship with Apple, and these terms govern your relationship with us.
Lampverse Plus
- What it adds: all reading plans (New Testament in 90 Days, M'Cheyne, and more than one plan at a time) and all card templates for the share card, wallpaper and card widget. Everything in the free tier stays free.
- Yearly: $19.99 per year, an auto-renewing subscription. It renews for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancel any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Lifetime: $39.99, a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- The price is shown before you buy. Prices are in US dollars and may differ by country. Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple ID.
- Restore: on a new device, or after reinstalling, use "Restore purchases" in Settings → Lampverse Plus with the same Apple ID.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policy at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Scripture texts
Lampverse includes these translations. Each is used unchanged, with its name and source shown in the app's About screen:
- King James Version, 1769 text. Public domain outside the United Kingdom. In the UK the text remains under Crown rights, administered by Cambridge University Press; for that reason Lampverse is not offered on the UK App Store until written permission is obtained.
- Berean Standard Bible (BSB). Public domain. The name "Berean" is used because the text is unchanged, as its publisher asks.
- World English Bible (WEB). Public domain. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org; the text is unchanged, as the trademark terms require.
Text files courtesy of eBible.org. Where a modern translation omits a verse on manuscript grounds, Lampverse shows the gap and does not fill it from another translation. We claim no rights over these public-domain texts. The app's code, design, card templates and the Lampverse name are ours.
Reading plans
Plans are reading schedules, nothing more. "Bible in a Year" divides the canonical order into 365 readings; "New Testament in 90 Days" and the M'Cheyne plan (1842, public domain) follow their published orders. Progress is kept only on your device; see the privacy policy.
No warranty
Lampverse is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Widgets and notifications are delivered by iOS and depend on your device and settings; we accept no liability for a verse or reminder that appears late or not at all. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Acceptable use
You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell or commercially reproduce the app, its templates or its design. You may share the cards and wallpapers it produces for personal, non-commercial use.
